Create Step plans for complex transactions

The Step Plan feature in Juristic Structure is designed to help you build and plan complex transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, tax planning, and private equity deals.

This guide covers how to create and manage transaction steps, as well as leverage Mirror Mode to streamline multi-step editing. The feature allows you to break down the transaction process into individual, manageable steps that can be effectively illustrated and communicated.

Using the Step Editor

  • Locate the "Step Editor" button in the bottom-right panel.

Creating Steps:

  • You can create a new step by clicking the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner of the dialog box.
  • In each step, you can add elements such as companies or share transfers as relationships to represent different phases.
  • Each element, as explained earlier, can be modified to reflect specific details of the transaction.

    Mirror Mode in Step Editor

    Functionality:
Mirror Mode allows changes made in one step to be automatically applied to all subsequent steps in your step plan. This is particularly useful when working on complex transactions where the same elements or changes need to be reflected across multiple steps

    How It Works:

    • When Mirror Mode is enabled, any changes you make in the current step will automatically apply to all subsequent steps.
    • For example, if you're on Step 3 and make a change, that change will automatically apply to Step 4 and beyond.
    • Think of this as a waterfall principle: changes flow downwards but not upwards.
    • You can exclude specific steps if you don’t want the changes to apply to them.

Mirror Mode is particularly effective when ensuring consistency across multiple steps in a transaction plan without manually repeating the same changes. This can save time and reduce the risk of errors, especially when working with complex, multi-step processes.

Limitations:

  • Note that when Mirror Mode is active, the Undo/Redo function is disabled. This means changes cannot be undone using the usual undo functions, so be mindful when making edits.
