🎥 Create your first diagram

Juristic Structure is a diagramming tool designed with legal and tax professionals in mind. While it can be used by anyone, its features are tailored to capture complex ownership, transaction, and organisational structures in a way that is both clear and precise. This guide will help you create your first diagram.

💡 Before you start, did you know you can quickly add subsidiaries by simply clickling the connector dot? You don't have to drag and drop to create diagrams - all it takes is a simple click and voila... (or however many times you need it).

Juristic Structure offers multiple ways to display your diagram. Many users prefer the modern button-based view, but the traditional view is often the best starting point, as it works like familiar diagramming tools you may have used before.

Adding figures ('Elements')

There are multiple ways of adding elements to the vancas.

  1. Drag and drop predefined elements into the canvas

  2. Simply click the little black dots on the previous element. This quick-add feature allows you to create diagrams very quickly.

Drawing lines ('Relationships')

To show connections between elements:

  • Lines: Drag from the small dots on an element to another element. The system recognises that you want to draw a line and connects them automatically

  • Line styles: By default, a simple line is created, but you can apply a template to define meaning. For example:

    • Ownership line indicates control or stake

    • Transaction line indicates a transfer or exchange

Adding Details

Lines can carry additional values to represent real-world details. For instance:

  • Add shares to a transaction line to show the transfer of equity

  • The system immediately recognises the context, enabling automation in later steps

Editing and Correcting

If you make a mistake, you don’t need to delete and redraw. Simply:

  • Select the element or line

  • Change its type or value directly in place

  • The diagram updates without losing the structure

Key Takeaways

  • Juristic Structure is tailored for legal and tax use cases but works for any complex diagramming needs

  • Drag-and-drop elements keep diagrams simple to build and neatly aligned

  • Line templates and values add context, turning visuals into structured legal or financial meaning

  • Mistakes are easy to fix by editing rather than starting over

With these basics, you can create clear, accurate diagrams that lay the foundation for more advanced automation features in Juristic Structure.
