Check and sign off the review
Every cell verified, flagged or commented, corrected where needed and locked once agreed.
Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 13 October 2026.
JuristIQ has answered every question in the review table, across every contract in the data room. Before a finding goes into the due diligence report, someone on the team has to have read the passage behind it. This is the associate's check and the supervising partner's sign-off, done in the table so the record of who checked what stays with the answers.
Two questions decide how you go about it. Where does each answer come from? An answer that cites the contract can be checked in seconds; one with no recorded source needs the document read. And who signs off which part? Splitting the review by column lets several people work through the same table at once.
Open a document's answers
Open the insight, point at a cell and click the eye icon that appears in it. A panel opens on the right with every answer for that document, scrolled to the cell you clicked. Right-clicking a cell and choosing Open does the same.
Read the answer against the question under the column's name. The small numbered chips in the answer are its sources: point at one to see the passage it quotes, and click it to open the document beside the table at that passage. Click Reasoning to see how JuristIQ got to the answer.
Where the card says No source was recorded for this answer. Check it against the document., click Show Document at the bottom of the panel and find the passage yourself.
To move to another column of the same document, type its name in Find a column… at the top of the panel.
Mark each answer
Point at a card to show its buttons, or open them from the three-dot menu on the card. The same actions are on the right-click menu of a cell in the table, which is quicker when you work down one column.
Click Verify cell when the answer matches the document. The card is marked Verified, and hovering over the mark shows who verified it.
Click Flag cell when the answer needs a second look or goes to a finding: a change-of-control clause, a cap that is lower than the rest. The card is marked Flagged.
Click Add comment to say why, write the comment and click Save. The comment shows on the card with your name, so the partner reading it later knows who raised the point. Use Edit comment to change it or Remove comment to take it away.
Correct a wrong answer
Click Edit on the card, write the right answer and click Save. Double-clicking a cell in the table opens the same edit there.
The card now shows User input · original answer kept, and JuristIQ's answer stays underneath under Original answer. In the table, the cell carries a small person icon that reads Edited by a human.
To go back to JuristIQ's answer, click Edit and then Revert to original answer.
A corrected answer is yours, so it never counts as needing checking.
Work through what is left
The chips at the top of the panel filter the document's answers and show how many there are of each: All, Needs checking, Flagged, Verified and Empty.
- Needs checking shows JuristIQ's answers that have no recorded source and have not been verified. Clear this list on every document before the review is signed off.
- Flagged is the partner's list: the answers someone wants discussed.
- Empty shows the questions with no answer. A blank may be a finding in itself (no governing law clause), or a sign that the document could not be read.
Lock what is agreed
Once an answer is agreed, click Lock cell. It is marked Locked, its card no longer offers Edit or Reanalyse, and no one else can change its verification, flag or comment until it is unlocked with Unlock cell.
Reanalyse after something changes
If a new version of a contract is uploaded, or a column's question is reworded, the answers no longer fit. Reanalyse them and check the new answers again:
- one answer: Reanalyse on the card
- one document: Reanalyse at the bottom of the panel
- one question across every document: Reanalyse in the column's menu
Who does what
| Who | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| The associate | Checks every answer against its passage, verifies, corrects and flags | The panel, filtered to Needs checking |
| A second associate | Takes some of the columns, so two people work the same table | The table, right-clicking down a column |
| The supervising partner | Reads the flagged answers and the comments, settles them and locks them | The panel, filtered to Flagged |
Tips from practice
- No source, no shortcut. An answer with no recorded source may still be right, but only the document can tell you. Read the passage before you verify it.
- Split the review by column, not by document. One person on liability and termination, another on change of control and assignment: each gets to know what a normal answer looks like and spots the odd one.
- Comment on every flag. A flag on its own tells the partner something is wrong; the comment tells them what.
- Reanalyse with the team. A lock takes Edit and Reanalyse off the answer's card, but it does not hold back a reanalysis of the whole document or column, or an edit typed into the cell in the table. Agree before anyone reruns a column that has been signed off.
