File drafts into the right matter
Drafts moved into their matters with meaningful titles, and abandoned drafts deleted.
Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 13 October 2026.
A call comes in and you start a structure chart, a timeline or a task board straight from the home page, before anyone has opened the matter. Juristic keeps it as a draft, named after the tool and the time you started it, such as "Timeline - 13/10/2026 09:41". Before you share it, give it a name the team will recognise and file it in the matter where they will look for it.
Two questions decide what you do with each draft. Which matter does it belong to? And will you still need it?
File a draft in its matter
Go to the home page and click Drafts. The number on the tab tells you how many drafts are waiting.
Give the draft a proper title. Click the Rename using AI icon beside its title to have Juristic name it from what is in it, which helps when you have several drafts from the same day and no longer remember which is which. If the icon is greyed out, you do not have access to Juristic's AI tools; name it yourself in the next step.
Click Save as on the draft's row.
Check the Name and add a Description if the team will need context. Use the matter's own terms: "Beta Holding A/S group structure, pre-closing" is found again; "Structure - 13/10/2026" is not.
In Matter, choose the matter it belongs to. The list is arranged by group, and you can file a draft only in a matter you are on. If the matter does not exist yet, type its name to create it from here.
Click Save to file it and stay on the home page with your other drafts, or Save and open to carry on working in the matter.
If you have the draft open already, the highlighted Save as button at the top of a structure or timeline lets you name it and choose its matter in the same way.
Delete the drafts you will not use
- On the Drafts tab, tick the drafts you no longer need.
- Click the delete icon above the table.
- Juristic asks you to confirm and tells you how many drafts will go. Type DELETE in the box and click Delete.
A deleted draft cannot be brought back. If you are unsure what a draft holds, click its row to open it first.
Tips from practice
- Only you are on a draft. A draft sits outside every matter, so colleagues cannot find it until you file it. File it before you send anyone a link.
- Skip the draft step next time. Hold Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) while you choose Structure, Timeline or Task board from New on the home page, and Juristic asks for the name and the matter before it creates anything. Starting from inside the matter does the same; see open a matter for new work.
- Keep the tab short. A draft you have not touched since last week is either filed or deleted at the end of the week. A long Drafts tab is where work goes missing.
Once the work is in its matter, organise the matter's work in folders so the team finds it among the rest.
