Fill step slides with the firm's standard texts

Slides with the firm's standard explanation beside each step Juristic recognises on the chart, with the deal's names filled in once.

Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 13 October 2026.

Most reorganisations are built from the same few steps: a share contribution, a merger, an upstream dividend, a share sale. Your firm explains each of them the same way every time, and the explanation sits in a precedent somewhere. Here the knowledge lawyer writes each standard text once in the group's library, tied to the pattern on the chart that it explains. On a deal, the associate draws the steps and has Juristic place the right text beside each step it recognises.

The recognition is done by matching the chart against the patterns, not by AI: the same chart gives the same slides every time. It is part of Juristic's Automation features for Structure. If Analyse Slides is greyed out in your structures, your subscription does not include them; ask your Juristic contact.

Two questions shape the texts. Which steps does the firm explain the same way every time? Those are worth an output each. And what changes from deal to deal? The company names and the amounts: those become merge fields.

Write the standard text once

This part is for the group's admins, usually a knowledge lawyer. Other members can see the library but not open its building blocks.

  1. Open the group and click Library. Under the group's blocks, click Outputs.

  2. Click Create new. Give the output a Name that says which step it explains, "Contribution of shares in kind", and a Description for the colleagues who will look after it.

  3. Decide what the slide shows beside the text:

    • Leave Show full structure in slides off to show only the entities and lines of the step itself. This is the default, and it suits most steps.
    • Turn it on to show everything in the part of the chart that triggered the output, when the step only makes sense in the context of the whole group.
    • Turn on Section divider and fill in its Section Divider Title if this text opens a new part of the deck, "Tax consequences".
    • Disabled keeps the output in the library without using it on structures.
  4. Click Save and edit. The output opens with its slides.

  5. Add a slide with the add button and choose its type. The descriptions under each type say what it holds, for example custom text beside the diagram, or custom text on both sides. Write the title and the standard text.

  6. Put braces around whatever changes from deal to deal: "{Contributor} contributes all shares in {Target} to {Acquirer} against new shares." Each name in braces becomes a merge field the associate fills in on the deal.

  7. Click the scenario button on the left (Add a scenario). In Choose scenarios, pick the Scenario this text explains: the pattern of entities and lines on the chart that stands for the step. Add more than one if the same text fits several. Click Save.

  8. Click Save Output.

Scenarios are set up in the same library. See flag risky holdings with red flags for how they are built.

Generate the slides on a deal

  1. Draw the plan, one slide per step, as in build a step plan for a reorganisation.

  2. Open the Slides pane, click More (the three dots at the top of the pane) and choose Analyse Slides.

  3. Juristic compares each slide with the group's scenarios. Where a step matches, the slide gets the standard text beside its diagram. If the text would sit on top of text already on the slide, a new slide with the step's entities is added after it instead. Any further slides of the output follow, and where the output has a section divider, the divider slide comes first.

  4. Fill in the merge fields. Open More again and choose Show merge fields. The Merge Fields dialog lists every word in braces in the deck. Type the value for this deal, {Target} becomes Gamma ApS, and click Apply merge fields. The value goes into every box and text where the field appears.

  5. Read every generated text against the chart before the plan goes out. The standard text is right for the step in general; the deal may have a twist it does not mention.

Only the step, or the whole group

The step Choose Why
A self-contained act: a merger of two subsidiaries Show full structure in slides off The reader sees the two companies and nothing that distracts from them
A step whose effect depends on the rest of the group: a dividend up through three levels Show full structure in slides on The reader sees where the money ends up
The first step of a new part of the deck Either, with Section divider The divider tells the reader a new part begins

Tips from practice

  • Use the same field names in every output. A field is one per structure, so {Target} written in five outputs is filled in once for the whole deck. {Target} in one and {Target company} in another means filling in both.
  • Analysing again only adds what is new. An output already in the deck is not generated a second time, so the slides you have edited stay as they are. After changing a step on the chart, update its text by hand.
  • Let the specific text win. When a general text and a more specific one both match, open the specific output and use the button below the scenarios to select the general one. The general text is then left out when both apply.
  • Retire a text with Disabled, not delete. A disabled output stays in the library for the next time the law or the firm's view changes back.

To rename a company across the deck afterwards, see change a name once across the step plan. To write a one-off explanation for a step no standard text covers, draft the explanation beside the chart.
