Turn review findings into tasks and events

Consents to obtain and contract deadlines turned into owned board tasks or timeline events.

Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 14 October 2026.

The review has found the contracts that need the counterparty's consent to the change of control, the leases with a break date before closing and the licences up for renewal. Each one is now work: someone has to write to the counterparty, by a date. Instead of retyping the findings, you transfer those rows to the deal's task board, or put the dates on a timeline.

Two questions decide the transfer. Is it something to do, or something that happens? A consent to obtain is a task with an owner; a break date or a renewal date is an event on the timeline. And which rows need action? Only those go across.

Choose the rows

Open the insight and filter the table so that only the rows that need action are left, for example the contracts where the change-of-control column says consent is required. Every row the table shows is transferred; ticking rows does not narrow it down, the filter does.

Transfer the rows to a task board

  1. Click Export in the bar above the table, and choose Transfer to a taskboard.

  2. Under Destination, choose the deal's board to add the tasks to it, or New board to start one. The list holds the boards in the same matter as the insight, or in the same client group if the insight belongs to a group rather than a matter. A new board is created there and takes the insight's name.

  3. Decide which columns go across. Every column of the insight is listed with a tick box; untick the ones the board does not need.

  4. Under Column in Task board, choose where each column lands. On a new board you choose the kind of column it becomes, such as Text, Long text or Date. On an existing board you can pick one of the board's own columns of a matching kind, or Create new column.

  5. Click Save, or Add to board if you chose an existing board. Juristic opens the board and adds the tasks; progress shows at the bottom of the board while it works.

Each row becomes a task named after its document, with the document attached. On an existing board the tasks arrive in a new group named after the insight, so they do not mix with the work already there. Where the team corrected an answer in the review, the corrected answer is what goes across.

Give each task an owner and a deadline

The transfer brings the facts across; the board is where the work gets done. Assign each task to the person who will write to the counterparty, set its deadline and its status: Assign and follow up the work. A reminder before the deadline keeps closing on track: Get reminded before a deadline.

Put the dates on a timeline

  1. Click Export and choose Transfer to a timeline.

  2. Under Destination, choose the deal's timeline or New timeline.

  3. Drag columns from Columns onto the event: one onto the title (Document title is often the clearest), one onto Add date..., and others onto the description, tags or notes if you want them.

  4. Click Make timeline, or Add to timeline for an existing one. Juristic opens the timeline and adds one event per row.

Add dates from an Insights table to the chronology covers the mapping in more detail, including several dates per row.

Where each finding goes

The review found Send it to Map
Change-of-control consents to obtain The task board The column naming the counterparty, and the clause as Long text for whoever drafts the letter
Break dates and notice deadlines A timeline The date column onto Add date..., the document title as the title
Renewals that fall before closing The task board The renewal date as Date, so the board can sort and filter on it

Tips from practice

  • Transfer only what needs doing. A board full of tasks with nothing to do on them hides the ones that matter. Filter hard before you transfer.
  • Keep the insight. It stays the record of where each finding came from, with the passage and the reasoning, if the counterparty or the client questions it.
  • Transfer once. Transferring the same rows again adds them a second time. If documents are added to the data room later, filter the table to the new rows.
  • Check before you transfer. The tasks take the answers as they stand: verify and correct them first in Check and sign off the review.

Next, work out what is left before signing in Find what is outstanding before closing.
