Send the signing documents through DocuSign
DocuSign envelopes sent from the deal board, followed in the Signing view, and the signed PDFs downloaded with DocuSign's Certificate of Completion.
Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 13 October 2026.
The documents are agreed and the signing set is final. Instead of building every envelope by hand in DocuSign, you run signing from the deal board: each task that needs a signature becomes an envelope, and the board shows where each one stands until the last signature is in.
Two questions decide how you send. Does each document have its own signatories, or does the same group sign the whole set? And is every signatory's name and email address right? Once an envelope goes to DocuSign, it can no longer be changed from the board.
Signing needs your firm's DocuSign account to be connected to Juristic. If it is not, Send to signing tells you so, and an organisation admin can connect it: see connect the firm's DocuSign account.
Add the Signing view
Open the deal board, click Add view (the + after the views) and choose Signing. Adding views takes a board manager. A board has one Signing view. It adds two columns to the board: Signing Document, for the document to be signed, and Signing Required, for the envelope.
Mark the documents for signing
Switch to the table view. In the Signing Document column of each task that needs a signature, pick the document from the matter or upload it.
If colleagues sign, assign them to the task before you start: the people assigned to the task come with it into the envelope as signatories. Signatories outside the firm, such as the buyer's directors, are added in the next step.
In the Signing Required column, click Start. This creates a draft envelope with the task's document and assigned people, which you can still change before anything goes to DocuSign. The column only takes a click once the task has a signing document.
Check each envelope
Open the Signing view. Every task you marked has an envelope, named after the task, with its documents, its Signatories and a status. A new envelope is Draft: it exists only in Juristic so far.
Click + Signatories on the envelope to add the people who sign. Search the people already on the matter, or click Create to add someone new with a name and email address, then click Save.
Check every name and email address. To correct one, point at the signatory, click the pencil, and save. DocuSign needs both a name and an email address for every signatory: if one is missing when you send, Juristic stops with Cannot send to Docusign and lists who is missing what.
Click + Documents on the envelope if it should carry more than one document, for example a share transfer form and the board minutes that approve it.
Send to DocuSign
Click Send to signing on an envelope to send that one. To send several at once, tick the box beside each draft envelope and click Bulk signing above the envelopes.
Choose how the envelopes are made. Individual (one envelope per task) sends each task's documents to its own signatories. Bulk (one envelope for all tasks) puts the documents and signatories of every ticked task into one envelope, so each signatory signs the whole set in one go. Bulk is only offered when you send more than one envelope.
If your firm has more than one DocuSign account, pick the one to send from, and click Send to Docusign. If DocuSign asks who you are first, click Log in to Docusign, sign in to your DocuSign account and send again.
Once sent, an envelope is locked on the board: its documents and signatories can no longer be changed in Juristic, and the task's signing document is fixed. Go to Docusign opens the envelope in DocuSign, where any correction, resend or void is done.
Follow the signatures
- Each envelope's status changes on the board as DocuSign reports progress, and each signatory has a status of their own. Point at a status to see what it means.
| Status | What it means for the closing |
|---|---|
| Sent | DocuSign has emailed at least one signatory |
| Delivered | The signatories have opened the documents |
| Completed | Everyone has signed |
| Declined | A signatory refused to sign: find out why before anything else |
| Voided | The envelope was cancelled in DocuSign or expired |
The status also shows in the Signing Required column of the table view.
Download the signed documents
- Click Download signed PDF on the envelope. You get one PDF with the documents as they stand in DocuSign and DocuSign's Certificate of Completion. It works while the envelope is still partly signed, which is useful when the other side asks what has been signed so far.
- Add the signed PDFs to the closing set: see put together the closing binder.
Tips from practice
- Check the emails against the signing instructions. A typing error in an address is the most common reason a signature does not arrive, and after sending it can only be fixed in DocuSign.
- Individual for different signatories, bulk for the same ones. Board minutes for each subsidiary go to different directors; the main agreement and its ancillaries usually go to the same people.
- Changed your mind before sending? Delete the draft envelope with the bin icon. The task keeps its signing document, so you can start again.
- Keep the Signing view. Deleting it removes the Signing Document and Signing Required columns and every envelope's data from the board.
Before signing, check what is still open with find what is outstanding before closing. After closing, wrap up the board.
