Connect Juristic to your AI assistant
The Juristic connector lets you work with Juristic from inside any AI assistant that supports MCP connectors.
Ask the assistant to find documents in a matter, fill out an Insights table, build an ownership structure, create a Timeline - and it does the work directly in Juristic.
The connector uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI assistants to other software. The assistant always acts as you: it sees and changes only what your own Juristic account can see and change.
Before you start
You need:
- A Juristic account that belongs to your firm's Juristic organisation. You can't create an account through the connector.
- AI features enabled for you or your organisation in Juristic. If you're not sure, ask your Juristic administrator.
- One sign-in to the Juristic web app. If you have never signed in at app.juristic.io, do that once before you connect.
- Admin approval, if your assistant needs it. In some assistants, a workspace administrator must enable Juristic before anyone in the workspace can connect.
Connect Juristic
Juristic works with any AI assistant that supports remote MCP connectors with sign-in.
- In your assistant, open the connector settings. They may be called Connectors, Integrations or MCP servers.
- Find Juristic in the assistant's connector directory. If it isn't listed, add a custom connector with this server URL:
https://app-api.juristic.io/mcp - Select Connect. You're sent to the Juristic sign-in page.
- Sign in with your usual Juristic login.
- Review the consent screen and approve access. You see this once per assistant.
- You're returned to your assistant, and Juristic is ready to use.
Juristic enables each assistant individually. If yours can't connect, contact us and we'll check whether it's supported.
Staying connected
You stay signed in while you keep using the connector. If you don't use it for 14 days, or after 30 days in total, the assistant asks you to sign in again.
What the connector can do
The connector covers a lot areas of Juristic.
|
Area |
What you can ask for |
|---|---|
|
Matters and documents |
Find matters, documents, insight tables, structures, boards and timelines you have access to. Upload documents to a matter. |
|
Insight tables |
Create and edit insight tables, attach documents, add columns, read and filter results, and send results to a board or timeline. |
|
Structures |
Build entity and ownership structures, import structures from company registries or an image, create step papers and slides, and export to PowerPoint. |
|
Timelines |
Create and edit timelines, add single-date and date-range events, attach documents, people and tags, organise events into swimlanes, search and filter events, and save stories for different views of the same timeline. |
|
Flow |
Create and edit boards, add tasks, subtasks, groups and columns, fill in and filter cells, and switch between table, kanban, Gantt and calendar views. |
We are adding more features to MCP supported AI functionality.
Reading, changing and deleting
Every action the connector offers is one of three kinds:
|
Kind |
What it does |
Asks you first? |
|---|---|---|
|
Read |
Looks up information. Changes nothing. |
No |
|
Write |
Adds or changes content, such as creating a table or editing a slide. Never removes anything. |
No |
|
Delete |
Deletes, archives or clears content. |
Yes, always |
Delete actions never run until you confirm them in the assistant. If your assistant can't show a confirmation, it isn't offered delete actions at all.
Write actions run without asking first. Some assistants also run actions without showing them to you first, so review what you ask for before you send it. Everything the connector changes is recorded in Juristic's activity log under your name.
Your data and permissions
- MCP connector's access reflects your permissions. The connector has no special access. It reaches only the groups and matters you're a member of, and checks this on every request.
- Changes apply straight away. If you're removed from a matter, from your organisation, or lose AI access, the connector loses that access on its next request.
- Hosted in the EU. The connector runs on the same Juristic platform as the web app, hosted in the EU. Sign-in is handled by Auth0 in its EU region. No copy of your data is made for the connector.
- What your AI assistant receives. Juristic sends results only to the AI assistant you connected, and only when it asks. What your AI assistant does with them, and how long it keeps them, is covered by its own terms. Please check security and data policies with the relevant AI assistant you connect Juristic to.

Disconnect Juristic
To stop using the connector, remove or disconnect Juristic in your assistant's connector settings. To cut off a user immediately, a Juristic administrator can remove them from the organisation or turn off their AI access in Juristic.
Troubleshooting
|
Problem |
What to do |
|---|---|
|
You're asked to sign in to Juristic first |
Sign in once at app.juristic.io, then connect again. |
|
You can sign in but the connector refuses access |
Check that your account belongs to a Juristic organisation and that AI features are enabled for you. |
|
A matter or document is missing |
The connector shows only matters you're a member of. Archived matters aren't included. |
|
The assistant asks you to sign in again |
Your sign-in expired after 14 days without use, or 30 days in total. Sign in again. |
|
You can't find delete actions |
Your assistant can't show confirmations, so delete actions aren't offered. Delete in the Juristic web app instead. |
