Set up single sign-on for the firm

Lawyers signing in to Juristic with their firm account through Microsoft Entra ID or SAML, with no separate password to keep.

Updated 13 October 2026.

The firm wants lawyers to sign in to Juristic the way they sign in to everything else: with their firm account and under the firm's own sign-in rules, with no separate Juristic password to remember. Single sign-on is set up once for the whole firm, together with Juristic and the firm's IT team.

The question that decides the setup: which identity provider does the firm use? The steps below are for Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). If the firm uses another provider, Juristic sets it up with you over SAML; write to us and say which one.

Have the Entra ID details ready

Ask IT for an app registration in Entra ID for Juristic, and collect three details from it before you start.

Detail Where IT finds it in the Azure portal
Application (Client) ID Entra ID, App registrations, the Juristic app, Overview
Client Secret Value The Juristic app, Certificates & secrets, New client secret: copy the value straight after creating it
The tenant's domain For example alphalegal.onmicrosoft.com, or the firm's own domain

Copy the secret's value, not its secret ID. Entra ID shows the value only once, when the secret is created; if it was not copied, create a new secret.

Connect Entra ID to Juristic

  1. Ask Juristic for an SSO setup link, through your Customer Success Representative or Juristic support. Say which email domains the firm's lawyers sign in with.

  2. Open the link. It guides you through the configuration.

  3. Enter the Application (Client) ID, the Client Secret Value and the tenant's domain, and save.

  4. Test with one account before anyone else uses it: have one colleague sign in to Juristic with their firm account and check that they land in the firm's Juristic.

What changes for the firm's users

  • Anyone signing in with an email on one of the firm's registered domains is placed in the firm's organisation in Juristic. A colleague who has never used Juristic gets their user the first time they sign in, with the firm's modules.
  • New users join without admin rights. Admin rights are still given in Juristic: see decide who administers Juristic.

Tips from practice

  • Conditional access. If the firm uses conditional access policies in Entra ID, check with IT that the Juristic app registration is allowed through before you test.
  • Secrets expire. A client secret in Entra ID has an expiry date. Put a reminder in IT's calendar well before it, and contact Juristic in good time to replace it, so no one is locked out on the day.
  • Groups next. With single sign-on in place, link the firm's Entra groups to groups in Juristic, so people land in the right practice groups when they sign in: see put people in the right groups automatically.
