Open the matter your lawyer shared with you
Signed in to your matters and the boards, timelines and structures your law firm shared.

Your law firm runs your matter in Juristic and has shared part of it with you: the checklist for the transaction with the items your side delivers, the chronology of the dispute, or the chart of your group. You open it in your browser. There is nothing to install and no password to remember.
What you see is decided by your lawyer. Which matters you can open, which boards, timelines and structures are in them, and whether you can change them is all set when they share with you.
Open the email inviting you to Juristic and click the link in it. If your lawyer shared a whole matter, the link opens the matter. If they shared one board, timeline or structure, it opens that.
On the sign-in page, continue with your email address. It is the address the invitation was sent to, and it is usually filled in for you. Juristic emails a one-time code to that address.
Enter the code from the email. You are signed in. Next time, use the link in the invitation again: while you are still signed in you go straight in, and otherwise you sign in with a new code the same way.
Find your matter
Your overview lists every matter your law firm has shared with you, under Matters, with each matter's Title and Description. Click Open on the one you want.
To go back to the list from anywhere, click Overview in the sidebar. To jump to another matter, click the name at the top of the sidebar and choose the matter.
Open the shared work
The matter's page shows its title and description, and below them the work shared with you, in sections such as Structure, Timeline and Project management. Your law firm decides which sections the page shows and in what order.
Click a row in a section to open it.
Section What it holds What you do there Project management The task boards: the deal checklist, the conditions precedent, the documents still to come Follow progress, and update your own tasks if your lawyer allowed it. See update your tasks as a client Timeline The chronology of events in the matter Read the events in order, as the firm built them Structure The group structure chart or the step plan See who owns what, before and after the transaction
Whether you can change a board, timeline or structure, or only read it, is also set by your lawyer.
When something is missing
- A section that says, for example, "There are no timelines in this matter" means nothing of that kind has been shared with you on this matter. The same goes for a board, timeline or structure you expected to see. Ask your lawyer: only they can share it with you, and what you do in Juristic does not change what you can see.
Tips from practice
- Keep the invitation email. Its link takes you back to the matter, and the address it was sent to is the one you sign in with.
- Use your work address. Sign in with the address you were invited on: what your lawyer shared is shared with that address. If you change email address or leave the company, ask your lawyer to invite the new address or your successor.
- What you see is the working version. You are looking at the firm's own board, timeline or chart, not a copy sent on one date, so it shows the matter as it stands.
Next: update your tasks as a client. For the law firm's side of this, see give the client access to the matter.
