Send the structure as an editable PowerPoint
A PowerPoint in the firm's template with editable shapes, the chosen slides and the firm's slide packs.
Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 13 October 2026.
The group chart for Beta Holding A/S is ready, and it has to leave Juristic as a deck: for the partner presenting it at the board meeting, for the client's team to put into their own presentation, or for the step plan on Project Alpha. The PowerPoint export gives you the structure's slides as real PowerPoint shapes and connectors, so the reader can correct a name or move a box without coming back to you.
Two questions decide the settings. Will the deck go out in the firm's template, or into someone else's? And will the reader edit the chart, or only present it?
Set up the page
The page format decides the size and look of every slide, so set it before you lay out the chart rather than at the last minute.
Click the PowerPoint button in the controls in the bottom-right corner of the canvas (its tooltip says PowerPoint Canvas). The slide edges appear, so you see what lands on each slide. Click it again (the tooltip now says Infinite canvas) to go back to the open canvas.
Open Page format. In the Traditional layout it is on the Layout tab of the ribbon; in the Modern layout, click Settings in the toolbar. It is only there while PowerPoint Canvas is on.
Choose the format:
- Company template: the firm's own PowerPoint template, with its fonts, colours and logos. It is greyed out if the firm has no template in Juristic.
- Widescreen (16:9) or Standard (4:3): plain slides, for a deck in the client's template or another adviser's.
- A4 landscape, A4 portrait, A3 landscape or A3 portrait: slides the size of a printed page, for a board pack or a meeting where the chart is handed out on paper. A3 gives a large group room to breathe.
The page format is saved with the structure, so everyone working on it sees the same slides.
Export the deck
Click Export: the Export tab on the ribbon in the Traditional layout, or the Export button in the toolbar in the Modern layout.
Choose PowerPoint. Standard Export downloads every slide straight away, with no choices to make. For anything else, choose Customised export, which opens PowerPoint Export.
Under Slides, tick the slides that belong in this deck. Every slide is ticked when the dialog opens; Deselect all clears them so you can tick the few you need. The counter beside Slides shows how many are selected.
Under Export specifications, decide on the firm's own slides. Export includes introduction slide opens the deck with the firm's introduction slide. If the firm's template has a closing slide, Export includes "Thank you" slide is there too. Both are only offered when the page format is Company template; the plain formats have no template to take them from.
If the firm keeps slide packs in Juristic, such as a standard disclaimer or a page on the team, tick Include slide packs and open the list. Click Add on each pack you need; Show previews it first. Search with Search slide packs... when the firm has many.
Under Slide pack export order, drag the packs into place. Exported slides stands for your structure's slides, so a pack dragged above it comes before the chart and a pack below it comes after.
Under Relationships layout, choose how the lines between the entities are drawn:
- Keep original layout: the lines follow the chart as you drew it, as closely as PowerPoint allows. If anyone moves an entity in PowerPoint, every line connected to it jumps back to a default position. Choose this when the deck will be presented as it is.
- Snap to default positions: the lines attach to PowerPoint's own connection points on each entity, so the reader can move a box and the lines follow without disturbing the rest. The layout may look slightly different from the chart in Juristic. Choose this when the client or a colleague will edit the deck.
Click Export. The PowerPoint file downloads; open it and page through it before it goes out.
Settings for each audience
| Who it is for | Page format | Relationships layout | Worth setting |
|---|---|---|---|
| The partner presenting to the client's board | Company template | Keep original layout | The introduction slide, and the firm's standard slide packs after the chart |
| The client's team, for their own deck | Widescreen (16:9) | Snap to default positions | Only the slides they asked for |
| A meeting where the chart is handed out on paper | A4 landscape or A3 landscape | Keep original layout | One slide per part of the group, so each page stays readable |
Tips from practice
- One structure, several decks. Ticking slides only decides what goes into this export; the structure stays as it is. The dialog starts afresh each time, so export again with a different selection for the next audience.
- Leave the working slides out. Slides you used to try out an alternative, or with the team's open questions on them, stay in Juristic: untick them rather than delete them.
- Ask what the recipient will do with it. If they will rearrange the chart in their own deck, Snap to default positions saves them redrawing every line.
- Keep the deck in step with the structure. If the chart will keep changing after the deck has gone out, use the PowerPoint add-in instead of exporting again: see keep structure slides in a client deck up to date.
Before you export, see tidy up the chart before it goes out and explain the chart with a legend. For a fixed copy in an opinion, report or binder, see put the group chart into a memo or opinion. The firm's slide packs are set up by your admins: see add the firm's slides to PowerPoint exports.
