Hand the review over in Excel
An Excel file of the review in the firm's styling, with questions, reasoning and sign-off status if the reader needs them.
Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 13 October 2026.
The review table is done: every contract has its answers, and the team has checked them. Now the findings have to leave Juristic. The partner wants a file to go through on the train, the client wants the review attached to the report, or local counsel picks up the work in their own spreadsheet.
Two questions decide the options. Does the reader need to see how each answer was reached? And will they read the review one document at a time, or one question at a time?
Export the review
Open the insight and click Export in the bar above the table.
Choose Excel. The Export to Excel options open beside the menu.
Tick what this reader needs. Nothing is ticked to begin with, and an export with nothing ticked gives you the plain table.
- Include prompt row adds a row under the headings with the question behind each column, so a reader who was not part of the review knows what each column answers.
- Include reasoning (as cell notes) puts the reasoning behind each answer in a note on the cell. The reader hovers over a cell to see why the answer is what it is.
- Include verification & flags shades verified answers green and flagged answers red, and adds a note saying who verified or flagged the answer, the reason for a flag, any comment and who locked the cell.
- Transpose table turns the table on its side: one column per document and one row per question. It suits a handful of key contracts read side by side.
Click Export. The file downloads as an Excel workbook.
What the file holds
The sheet starts with the firm's logo, the insight's name and the date and time of the export. If your organisation has set up an Excel template for exports, the file follows it. Then come the Document, Category and Info columns for each document, and a column for each question.
Where someone on the team corrected an answer by hand, the file has the corrected answer. A cell that has not been analysed yet reads "Not analysed".
The file always holds the whole table: every document and every question, whatever filters, search or hidden columns you have on screen. If the reader should see only part of the review, delete the rows or columns in Excel before you send it.
An export holds up to 1,000 documents. With more rows than that in the table, the Export button under the options is greyed out.
Options for each reader
| Who it is for | Worth ticking | Leave off |
|---|---|---|
| The client, with the report | Include prompt row, so each column reads as a question | Include verification & flags: the notes carry the team's comments and names |
| The partner or the team, as a working file | Include prompt row, Include reasoning (as cell notes) and Include verification & flags: the reasoning and the sign-off status show what is still open | |
| Local counsel or another adviser | Include prompt row and Include reasoning (as cell notes), so they can test the answers | Include verification & flags, unless they take part in the sign-off |
| Anyone comparing a few key contracts | Transpose table |
Tips from practice
- Sign off before you export. The verification shading shows the state of the review at the moment of export. Finish checking and signing off the review first, so the file does not go out with half the answers unchecked.
- Comments are the team's own. A flag reason or a comment written for a colleague ends up in the cell notes when Include verification & flags is ticked. Leave it off for anything that leaves the firm.
- One export per reader. The ticks stay as you left them while the insight is open, and are cleared when you open it again. Check them before each export, and make a separate file for each audience.
- The documents too. When the reader needs the contracts behind the findings as well, download the documents behind a finding and send the zip with the spreadsheet.
The same Export menu has Transfer to a timeline and Transfer to a taskboard, for when the findings should become events or follow-up tasks rather than a file: see turn review findings into tasks and events. To give every export the firm's logo and colours, an admin can make Excel exports look like the firm's.
