Set your name, initials and language
Correct name and initials on your avatar, and Juristic in the language and spelling you write in.
Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 13 October 2026.
Your colleagues see you in Juristic by your initials: on your avatar beside comments, on the tasks you are assigned and in the history of who changed what. If your initials clash with a colleague's, or your name came across from the firm's systems spelled wrongly, fix it before the matter fills up with your work. While you are there, set the language you want to work in.
Correct your name and initials
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open your account menu, then click User details.
Correct your First name and Last name. Both are required.
Type your Initials the way the firm knows you, up to four letters. They are shown in capitals. Leave the field empty to have Juristic work them out from your name.
Click Save. The page reloads with your new details.
Your Email and Organisation are shown in the same dialog but cannot be changed there; ask your firm's Juristic administrator if either is wrong.
Choose your language
Open the account menu again and click Language.
Choose your language from the list, where each one is shown by its own name with its flag. The change takes effect straight away, and Juristic remembers it on your account, so it follows you to any computer you sign in on.
| You write | Choose |
|---|---|
| British English: colour, organisation, judgement | English (UK) |
| American English: color, organization, judgment | English (US) |
| Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Polish | The language by its own name: Dansk, Svenska, Norsk, Deutsch, Nederlands, Français, Español, Italiano, Português or Polski |
The language is yours alone. A colleague on the same matter can work in Danish while you work in English; neither choice changes the other's screen.
Tips from practice
- Initials the firm already uses. If the firm signs documents and time entries with three-letter initials, type those here. Initials you type yourself always win over the firm's setting.
- Two people with the same initials. Initials worked out from names can coincide, more often when your administrator has set them to one or two letters. Typing your own initials is the quickest way to tell you apart on a busy board.
- AI writes in your language too. When Juristic builds timeline events from documents, it writes them in the language you have chosen here, with the spelling of English you picked.
