Download the documents behind a finding

A ZIP of the documents for the filtered or selected rows, sent to you by email link.

Screenshots are taken from the app on every release. Updated 13 October 2026.

The review has turned up a finding: twelve of the target's contracts have a change-of-control clause, or every lease runs out before closing. The client, the buyer's counsel or the partner wants those documents, not only the table. Instead of collecting them one by one, you select the rows in the insight and download their documents as one zip.

One question decides the selection: which rows make up the finding? Usually a filter on the column that holds the answer gives you exactly those rows.

Select the rows

  1. Open the insight. Click the Filters icon in the toolbar above the table and filter on the column that holds the finding, for example the change-of-control column showing "Yes".

  2. Tick the box at the top of the row checkboxes to select every row that matches the filter, including the rows further down that you have not scrolled to yet. Untick any rows you want to leave out. For a few documents, tick their rows one by one instead.

  3. Click Download documents, the download icon that appears on the left of the toolbar, next to the bin, once rows are selected.

Collect the zip

  1. Carry on working. Juristic puts the documents into one zip in the background, and a large selection can take a while. If you still have the insight open when the zip is ready, the download starts in your browser.

  2. Open the email "Your documents are ready to download". It tells you how many documents the zip holds and the date the link is available until.

  3. Click the download link in the email. Juristic opens a page that checks you still have access to the insight and starts the download. If nothing happens, click Download documents on that page.

What the zip holds

One file per selected row, in its original format. Each file name starts with the row's number in the insight, followed by the document's title, so the files keep the insight's row order. Rows without a document are left out. The zip itself is named after the date and the insight.

The link in the email works for 30 days. After that the page says This download link has expired. Start a new export from the insight. Select the rows again and download a fresh zip.

Tips from practice

  • The link only works inside Juristic. Every time the link is opened, Juristic checks that the person opening it has access to the insight. Forwarding the email to the client does not give them the documents; download the zip and send it through the firm's usual channel for files.
  • Send the table with it. The zip holds the documents, not the answers. Hand the review over in Excel gives the reader the findings to go with them.
  • Check the filter before you select all. Ticking the box at the top takes every row the filter lets through, not only the ones on screen. Scroll through the filtered table first, so a zip meant for twelve contracts does not hold three hundred.
  • Losing access ends the download. If you lose access to the insight, the link stops working for you as well.
