Roll out the Word and PowerPoint add-ins
The Juristic add-ins deployed from the Microsoft 365 admin centre to the people who need them.
Updated 13 October 2026.
The firm has decided that its lawyers should work with Juristic inside Word and PowerPoint: reviewing contracts and drafting with JuristIQ in Word, and putting structure charts into client decks in PowerPoint. Someone with administrator rights in the firm's Microsoft 365 deploys the add-ins once, centrally, and they appear in everyone's Office.
If you are not a Microsoft 365 administrator, send this page to the person who is. Two questions decide the rollout. Which add-ins does the firm need? And who should get them: the whole firm, or the teams that use Juristic?
What you deploy
| Add-in | Where users find it | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Word | Juristic Assistant on the Home tab | JuristIQ on the open document, the firm's templates and house style, structure charts in documents |
| PowerPoint | Structures in the Juristic group on the Home tab | Structure charts as editable slides that stay in step with Juristic, and JuristIQ on the deck |
There is no add-in for Outlook or Excel. Each add-in is deployed from its own manifest, a small XML file that tells Office where the add-in lives.
Get the manifests
Ask Juristic for the manifest of each add-in the firm needs, through your Juristic contact or Juristic support. Each manifest is made for your firm and points at your firm's Juristic, so use the files Juristic gives you rather than a manifest found elsewhere.
Save the manifest files to your computer. If one opens in the browser as XML, save it from there.
Deploy from the Microsoft 365 admin centre
Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin centre at admin.microsoft.com with an administrator account.
Go to Settings, then Integrated apps, and choose to upload a custom app.
Choose an Office add-in and upload the manifest file from your computer.
Choose who gets it: the entire organisation, or specific users or groups. A group for the people with a Juristic licence keeps the ribbon tidy for everyone else.
Review the summary and finish the deployment. Repeat steps 4 to 7 for the other add-in.
The add-ins can take up to 24 hours to reach everyone. Users who do not see them should close and reopen Word or PowerPoint.
When a new manifest arrives
Juristic emails a new PowerPoint manifest to the firm's IT contacts whenever the PowerPoint add-in is updated.
- In Integrated apps, open the Juristic PowerPoint add-in, choose to update it, and upload the new manifest. Office keeps a copy of the old one for a while, so allow a few hours before everyone has the new version.
Tips from practice
- Start with one team. Deploy to a pilot group first, check that the add-in opens and that people can sign in, then widen it to the firm.
- Use the groups you already have. If the firm's Entra groups already decide who is in which Juristic group, deploy the add-ins to the same groups; see put people in the right groups automatically.
- Tell people where to look. The buttons sit on the Home tab, and the first time each person opens an add-in they sign in once. Point them to sign in to Juristic in Word and PowerPoint.
- Give Word the firm's content. Once Word has the add-in, an organisation admin can give the Word add-in the firm's templates and house style.
